A full inch blade, engraved with a symbol for transience and yet also hope, refined with the finest gold, and limited to 66 pieces.

The journey of life is what the blade stands for. It was inspired by a text excerpt of Sri Chinmoy's entitled “Death is not the End". This text text is engraved on the back of this special blade.

The text states beautifully that death is not the end, but the road.

THE TRAVELLER straight razors are made to order, which is why the delivery time may be 1-3 weeks, depending on capacity utilisation in the manufactory.

    The Traveller

The razor is inspired by a text excerpt from Sri Chinmoy.

This excerpt is called “Death is not the End”. It reads as follows:

    “Death is not the end.
Death can never be the end.

    Death is the road.
    Life is the traveller.
    The Soul is the Guide."

Matching the excerpt from the full text, a skull is engraved on the front of the blade, representing transience and yet also hope, as death is not the end.

    Handle Material

The deep, dark brown smoked oak pairs well with the black blade of THE TRAVELLER. The look reminds of a antique wooden table in a bar, whch has seen bar fights carried out on it and cigarettes being put out on it. Its durability, resistance to moisture and design variability make it a popular material for handles of high-quality straight razors and shaving accessories.

    Grind

During hollow grinding, the straight razor is ground concavely from the back to the cutting edge. This design combines great flexibility with high torsional rigidity in longitudinal form. Enjoy the satisfying sound and feel of a gentle shave from the vibration of the razor blade trimming your facial hair.

    Product Details

A straight razor with a traditional square point, the cutting edge ends directly at the tip of the blade at a 90° angle. With a little practice, you can achieve formidable results both when precisely shaping contours and when shaving dimples. Such types of blades allow you to shave comfortably with absolute precision, but should only be handled by experienced users.

    Blade Width

A wide blade is particularly suitable for men with strong beard growth or thicker hair. An 8/8 inch straight razor glides undeterred through even the thickest facial hair. The experienced barber appreciates the high weight of the blade and the resulting smooth operating performance. Especially on straight facial areas, you will achieve an unrivalled thorough and comfortable shave.

    GUIDE

    The Traveller (limited) (37)

Your shaving begins with stropping on a leather strop. After you have generously coated your face with shaving lather or shaving oil, grab the blade so that the open handle points away from you. With your free hand, gently hold your skin to form as straight a surface as possible. You set the blade at about 30° angle and smoothly pull it down over your face. First, start going with the hair, and then finish by going against the growth direction.

    MAINTENANCE

    The Traveller (limited) (38)

Most straight razors are made of carbon steel. To avoid stains, rinse your blade with warm water after shaving. Next, dab it dry with a cloth without touching the cutting edge and stow it open to dry completely. Between two applications there should be at least 48 hours so that the burr can realign itself. If you are not going to use your razor for a longer period of time, apply a bit of acid-free oil to it. You can find more information here.
